About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Senior Technician to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of CNC machines, Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), and associated production equipment within a demanding manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will provide advanced technical expertise in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and reliability improvement of CNC control systems, PLCs, servo drives, electrical panels, safety systems, and industrial automation equipment. This role will also serve as a technical leader, guiding junior technicians, supporting complex fault investigations, and coordinating with OEMs and specialist contractors to maximize equipment availability and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machines, SPMs, and associated electrical and control systems in accordance with OEM requirements and approved procedures.
  • Lead systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex and recurring electrical and control system failures.
  • Diagnose and repair CNC control systems, PLCs, machine interfaces, control circuits, and electrical panels.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain servo drives, spindle drives, servo motors, spindle motors, encoders, and feedback systems.
  • Diagnose faults and maintain CNC axis control systems, including servo amplifiers, limit switches, proximity sensors, and associated circuitry.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot ATC, APC, tool changers, pallet changers, machine sequence controls, and clamping systems.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical power distribution equipment including MCCBs, MCBs, contactors, overload relays, transformers, fuses, and power supplies.
  • Troubleshoot PLC I/O systems, sensors, relays, solenoid control circuits, machine interlocks, and automation systems.
  • Diagnose and repair HMI systems, operator panels, communication interfaces, and machine control networks.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain machine safety circuits including emergency stops, safety relays, door interlocks, and machine protection systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on CNC electrical systems, drives, motors, cooling systems, control panels, and associated equipment.
  • Conduct electrical inspections and testing, including voltage, current, resistance, insulation, continuity, and signal verification.
  • Monitor electrical panels and equipment for overheating, damaged wiring, contamination, loose connections, and component deterioration.
  • Troubleshoot electrical control systems associated with hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and coolant systems.
  • Support machine installation, relocation, commissioning, dismantling, reinstallation, and functional testing activities.
  • Perform equipment condition monitoring and identify early indicators of electrical failure.
  • Recommend and implement reliability improvements to reduce downtime, improve MTBF, and enhance machine availability.
  • Coordinate with OEM service engineers, CNC specialists, PLC specialists, contractors, and suppliers during complex maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, test results, spare parts usage, and equipment history in SAP or CMMS systems.
  • Lead assigned maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with approved procedures, electrical safety requirements, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) standards.
