ABOUT THE ROLE

REMAYA helps our clients verify and validate the performance of their platforms and systems through rigorous test and evaluation practices.  We apply scientific methodologies and Systems-Engineering principles to gather critical performance data on test platforms and provide users with an evidence base which allows them to make well-informed, data-led decisions about their platforms and systems.

REMAYA operates a secure test and evaluation facility, known as XRANGE. From its secure island setting, XRANGE provides over 350km2 of test range area as well as up to 10,000ft of airspace to assess platforms and systems in operationally realistic conditions and scenarios. Open all year around to both UAE and Internation clients and supported by dedicated infrastructure, advanced instrumentation and data capture systems, it is a unique testing environment in the heart of the Middle East. Our expert engineering teams support our clients with trials planning and advisory services across their product lifecycle, from concept to in service upgrades. REMAYA also deploys mobile instrumentation and support services directly to our clients, providing mobile test and evaluation range support both in the UAE and Globally.

 

The Senior Specialist, Compliance is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's Compliance Management System (CMS) to ensure adherence to applicable regulatory, legal, contractual, and industry requirements imposed by government authorities, clients, and regulatory bodies. The role ensures compliance obligations are effectively integrated into policies, processes, and business operations.

The role develops and maintains compliance frameworks, controls, monitoring mechanisms, and reporting processes, while monitoring regulatory developments and assessing compliance risks. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the role supports business operations locally and internationally while mitigating regulatory, financial, operational, and reputational risks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Compliance Framework Development

  • Design, establish, and continuously improve the organization's Compliance Management System (CMS).
  • Develop compliance policies, procedures, standards, and governance frameworks aligned with applicable regulatory, contractual, and industry requirements.
  • Maintain a centralized compliance register covering applicable laws, regulations, permits, licenses, certifications, and contractual obligations.
  • Develop compliance monitoring tools, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.

Regulatory Compliance Management

  • Identify, interpret, and assess applicable regulatory, legal, contractual, and industry requirements from local, regional, and international authorities.
  • Monitor regulatory developments, assess business impacts, and ensure compliance obligations are incorporated into company policies, processes, and controls.
  • Coordinate implementation of regulatory requirements across business units.
  • Ensure timely regulatory filings, submissions, renewals, certifications, and reporting obligations.
  • Serve as the primary compliance focal point for regulatory authorities and stakeholders, providing regulatory guidance and maintaining records of regulatory interpretations and compliance requirements.

Client & Contractual Compliance

  • Analyze client compliance requirements, contractual obligations, and industry-specific standards.
  • Ensure project deliverables and operational activities comply with contractual requirements.
  • Maintain records demonstrating compliance with customer requirements.

International Standards & Certifications

  • Implement and maintain compliance with applicable international standards and certification frameworks, including: ISO 37301, ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
  • ESG and Sustainability frameworks, where applicable
  • Coordinate internal readiness activities and external certification audits.

Risk Assessment & Control Management

  • Conduct compliance risk assessments across the organization.
  • Develop mitigation plans and corrective action programs.
  • Establish compliance controls and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Monitor compliance findings, non-conformances, observations, and corrective actions, ensuring timely remediation and closure.

Audits & Inspections

  • Prepare the organization for regulatory inspections, client audits, and certification assessments.
  • Coordinate internal and external compliance audits, reviews, and inspections.
  • Track audit findings and corrective actions through to closure.

Compliance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Develop compliance KPIs, reporting metrics, and performance dashboards.
  • Provide periodic compliance reports to management and governance committees.
  • Maintain compliance dashboards and risk indicators.
  • Escalate significant compliance risks, issues, and emerging regulatory concerns.

Documentation & Record Management

  • Maintain regulatory documentation, compliance records, and evidence repositories.
  • Ensure effective document control and record retention practices.
  • Maintain systems for tracking permits, licenses, certifications, and compliance obligations.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance requirements are effectively implemented across the organization.
  • Serve as the primary compliance focal point for regulatory authorities, certification bodies, auditors, clients, consultants, and other external stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Risk Management, Governance, Engineering, Public Policy, or related field.
  • 8-12 years of experience in Compliance, Governance, Risk Management, Regulatory Affairs, Legal Compliance, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior or lead compliance role.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and maintaining Compliance Management Systems (CMS) and governance frameworks.
  • Experience interpreting and implementing complex regulatory, contractual, and industry requirements within a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience conducting compliance assessments, audits, inspections, and corrective action programs.
  • Experience engaging with government authorities, regulators, certification bodies, auditors, clients, and other external stakeholders.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP).
  • International Diploma in Governance, Risk & Compliance.
  • ISO Lead Auditor Certification.
  • Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP).
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM).
