Senior Specialist - Product Management

External Job Description

POWERTECH Engines is seeking a Senior Specialist – Product Management to support the strategy, development, commercialisation and lifecycle management of aerospace propulsion products, including Micro Jet engines and related systems.

This role connects customers, commercial teams and technical functions, supporting products from concept and market assessment through development, testing, certification, industrialisation, production, market launch, customer delivery and in-service support.

Key Responsibilities

• Support product strategies, roadmaps, lifecycle plans, business cases and investment proposals.
• Analyse customer needs, market trends, competitor products, technologies and regulatory requirements.
• Translate customer and market needs into measurable and traceable product requirements.
• Coordinate activities across Engineering, R&D, Programme Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales and Commercial teams.
• Monitor product maturity, technical progress, milestones, risks, dependencies and commercial readiness.
• Support design reviews, programme gates, testing, validation, qualification, certification and customer acceptance.
• Contribute to industrialisation, production readiness, first-article activities and new-product introduction.
• Support product cost, pricing, value engineering, profitability and make-or-buy assessments.
• Identify and qualify new customers, partners, markets and business opportunities.
• Prepare technical and commercial inputs for proposals, tenders, RFIs and RFPs.
• Participate in customer meetings, product demonstrations, exhibitions and industry events.
• Monitor product performance, customer feedback, reliability, cost and improvement opportunities.
• Maintain product specifications, reports, roadmaps and decision-support materials.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, Business, Product Management or a related field, with 5–8 years of relevant experience; or
• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with 4–7 years of experience; or
• PhD/Doctor of Engineering with 3–6 years of experience.
• Experience in product management, product development, programme management, aerospace engineering, business development or a related technical-commercial function.
• Demonstrated experience supporting complex engineering or technology products across multiple lifecycle stages.
• Experience in aerospace, defence, propulsion, UAV, gas turbine or Micro Jet engine environments is strongly preferred.
• Experience in customer engagement, product requirements, market analysis, proposal development and cross-functional delivery.
• Exposure to testing, certification, industrialisation, production readiness or product launch is advantageous.
• Knowledge of EASA, FAA or military airworthiness requirements is desirable.
• Strong commercial awareness, analytical thinking, technical writing and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with PLM, requirements-management, ERP or project-planning tools is an advantage.
