Position Summary:

Turbofan Structural Analysis Senior Engineer will be responsible for the stress & dynamic analysis of the turbofan components including compressors, turbines, exhaust, shafts, bearing systems, and other stationary structures within the turbofan development programs. This role requires expert knowledge in mechanical design, integrity, gas turbine propulsion, planning for projects and ability to develop individuals.


Key Responsibilities
:

  • Design and optimize the turbofan components, modules and sub-systems for life, weight, manufacturability and cost.
  • Carry out thermo-mechanical simulations at design, off-design and far off-design conditions to ensure safety and operability.
  • Carry out creep, LCF/HCF and fracture assessments
  • Carry out modal, dynamic, WEDM and rotodynamic analysis
  • Carry out FMECA (Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis) to support the safety and operability assessments
  • Support the development of methodologies and chain of software, including automated computational analysis/reports.
  • Support the management of knowledge
  • Review the designs, simulations and generate testing guidelines
  • Identify project risks and plan for mitigation

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering degree or a related field.
  • Strong background in gas turbine propulsion, mechanical design, integrity and/or heat transfer.
  • Experience in whole engine structural analysis, clearance assessments is a plus.
  • Experience in compressor and turbine modules
  • Fluent in English
  • 5+ years or more for senior roles

 

Skills:

  • Proficient in one of design packages such as Solidworks, Siemens NX or similar
  • Experience in FEA using Ansys, Nastran or equivalent, or lower order simulation methods.
  • Awareness on the state-of-the-art technologies in materials and structural mechanics to link with structural analysis for gas turbine propulsion
  • Good communication and presentation skills to interact with team members, clients, and vendors.
  • Ability to solve problems, prioritize tasks and delegate when necessary
