ADVANCED CONCEPTS is an entity within EDGE dedicated to the design and deployment of advanced, innovative technologies. ADVANCED CONCEPTS is fast-tracking the development of high-technology autonomous systems, including three Medium Endurance, High Altitude, fixed-wing unmanned aerial systems, a family of precision loitering munitions, a cost- effective family of cruise missiles, and a range of guided artillery munitions.

Core Accountabilities:

• Deploy, configure, and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Ensure the network infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and secure to meet current and future demands.
• Implement and maintain network security protocols to protect data integrity and confidentiality.
• Diagnose and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Monitor network performance and availability using network management tools.
• Perform regular maintenance and updates to network hardware and software.
• Respond to and resolve network incidents, minimizing impact on business operations.
• Maintain accurate inventory of network assets and software licenses.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference
• Lead network-related projects from planning to execution, ensuring timely and successful completion.
• Work closely with IT support staff and other departments to resolve issues and support organizational needs.
• Contribute to the development and enforcement of IT policies and best practices within the organization.
• Liaise with vendors for network devices purchases, upgrades, and support services.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies, recommending enhancements to improve system efficiency and effectiveness.

Experience

•  Minimum 5 years’ experience in network security administration or a related field.
• 3 years in a network management role for a mid-sized organization.

Knowledge / Qualification

• Bachelor’s in computer Science, Information Technology or other related fields,
• Certification in a relevant subject is preferable, e.g., CCNA, CCNP.
• Strong understanding of NIST 800-53 and CNSSI 1253
• Strong understanding of data classification
• Understanding of IPSEC, SSL, PKI and other encryption-based technologies
• Can clearly demonstrate least privilege access

Key Skills

• In-depth knowledge of network security protocols and best practices.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing routers, switches, NAC, Firewall, WAP.
• Advanced skills in network monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Ability to automate network tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Experience with network virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ACI).
• Strong understanding of data security zones
• Understanding of data encryptors and data diodes
• Strong understanding of Identity Access Management (IAM) & Role Based Access Controls (RBAC)
• Vulnerability Management, Patch Management and Secure Configuration Management
• Strong understanding and ability to implement Hardware Security Modules (HSMs)
• Strong understanding of CIS Benchmarks
• Strong understanding of Risk Frameworks
• Experience with DIACAP / NISPOM
