ABOUT THE ROLE

Responsible for sourcing and the contractual coverage of all direct material for respective category whilst aiming to mitigate commercial risk, optimizing commercial advantage and providing security of supply. Leads the supplier selection and is the expert for commercial negotiations. Creates and deploy sustainable purchasing strategies for material categories. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize purchasing processes and systems, and identify improvement opportunities that drive profitability.

 

 

  • Assume the role of “expert” for the categories. Understand, track, and forecast the global supply base, markets, technology, cost structure and drivers, and competition.
  • Initiates and executes bid/RFQ process. Ensures competitive price offers are sought for the respective material categories.
  • Act as a commercial interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on new projects and activities.
  • Manage the supplier selection process to achieve the best performance towards NIMR’s procurement priorities of Delivery, Quality, Competitiveness and Product Development.
  • Prepare, lead and coordinate the implementation of agreements and purchase orders in line with NIMR’s requirements and in compliance with internal procedures and legal regulations as export restriction regulations.
  • Negotiate contracts, improve pricing and terms & conditions with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings, utilizing negotiation, procurement best practice tools and methods.
  • Monitor the Supplier Performance and advise on Supply Market and Supplier issues which may present any risk or opportunity to the organization. Proposes risk mitigation activities.
  • Provide analysis on costs; initiate and manage cross-functional cost reduction activities in the respective material categories.
  • Liaise with engineering & supply chain functions to review opportunities for continuous improvement and innovations originating from the supply markets.
  • Maintain vendor master data. Ensures that the supplier base knows, respects and follows NIMR’s Code of Conduct and OHSE Policies and Procedures.
  • Act as single point of contact for commercial escalations with the supplier; lead the enforcement of the contractual obligations.
  • Works within the limits of authority as defined by the line manager.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will be measured on its ability to deliver cost savings and operational efficiencies through effective negotiations, while ensuring timely and accurate preparation of solicitation documents and maintaining departmental key performance indicators, including solicitation cycle time, administrative cycle time, and payment cycle time.
 
The role is also responsible for managing delivery schedules, ensuring supplier deliveries are completed on time and to the required quality standards, fostering strong relationships with suppliers, and maintaining effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders. Success will be measured through the satisfaction of internal customers and suppliers, as well as the timely and accurate submission of reports requested by the Line Manager.
 
The role requires advanced competency in cost and price analysis, development of procurement documents, inventory and supply chain management, market analysis, supplier and customer management and evaluation, procurement policies and procedures, and computer applications such as Microsoft Office and SAP, with intermediate proficiency in tendering processes and research and analysis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Excellent Communication Skills(verbal and written) in English.
  • 7 - 8 years of relevant experience in a similar role in automotive industry.
  • Proven capability in sourcing, contracting and managing procurement processes.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence key business decisions.
