The Sr. Maintenance Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing maintenance activities, supporting preventive and corrective tasks, and managing projects within the Maintenance (MNT) Department, including system modifications, upgrades, and new installations

 

Key Functional Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities and system modification projects, ensuring clear scopes, schedules, and resource allocation

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment history in SAP/ERP systems

  • Prepare technical specifications, scopes of work, SLAs, and design proposals for contractor‑executed maintenance and modification projects

  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to ensure equipment availability, reliability, and safe operation

  • Supervise in‑house technicians, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely and effective task completion

  • Plan and assign maintenance tasks, ensuring tools, resources, and permits are available

  • Manage routine maintenance requests and breakdowns, ensuring timely response and closure

  • Initiate and oversee procurement of services, materials, and spare parts, ensuring correct specifications and vendor compliance

  • Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical spares

  • Oversee gate pass issuance and permit‑to‑work (PTW) processes

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents

  • Support maintenance‑related projects, upgrades, expansions, and capital improvement initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with ADOSH, NFPA, Civil Defense, and other regulatory requirements

  • Prepare reports, analyze maintenance data, and recommend improvements for reliability and cost efficiency

  • Track and improve maintenance KPIs such as PM compliance, schedule adherence, asset utilization, and maintenance costs

  • Maintain QMS ISO, safety, health, and environmental procedures

  • Provide regular updates to the Maintenance Manager

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

 

Key HSE Responsibilities

  • Follow OSH instructions and safe working procedures

  • Use appropriate PPE and safety systems

  • Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures

  • Avoid actions that endanger health and safety

  • Assist with risk assessments and report hazards, incidents, and issues

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience: 3–8 years in maintenance and engineering roles, leading projects and maintaining equipment in high‑safety environments

  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in equipment engineering and maintenance in environments such as power plants or heavy machinery operations

  • Education: Certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering

  • Skills: Strong customer focus, negotiation, decision‑making, and problem‑solving abilities

  • Communication: Fluent in Arabic and English
