Key Responsibilties

  • Plan, assign, coordinate, and supervise daily mechanical maintenance activities for CNC machines, SPMs, and associated production equipment.
  • Lead preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities in line with maintenance schedules, OEM recommendations, and operational requirements.
  • Monitor machine breakdowns, assign resources, and ensure timely restoration of equipment to minimize production downtime.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and support troubleshooting of recurring and complex mechanical failures.
  • Supervise maintenance and repair of spindles, bearings, ball screws, linear guideways, gearboxes, couplings, belts, pulleys, and machine axes.
  • Oversee troubleshooting and maintenance of Automatic Tool Changers (ATC), Automatic Pallet Changers (APC), tool magazines, fixtures, chucks, and clamping systems.
  • Manage maintenance activities related to hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, valves, power units, hoses, and fittings.
  • Supervise pneumatic systems maintenance, including actuators, air cylinders, FRL units, valves, and associated components.
  • Ensure effective maintenance of lubrication and coolant systems to maximize equipment performance and lifespan.
  • Coordinate machine alignment, levelling, precision measurement, and condition monitoring activities.
  • Monitor the condition of rotating equipment and mechanical components, initiating repairs and replacements as required.
  • Support CNC machine installation, relocation, dismantling, reinstallation, and commissioning activities.
  • Monitor vibration, temperature, leakage, and other equipment condition indicators to identify potential failures before breakdowns occur.
  • Drive reliability improvement initiatives aimed at increasing machine availability, improving MTBF, and reducing MTTR.
  • Coordinate with OEM service engineers, contractors, and suppliers for specialist maintenance support.
  • Review spare parts requirements and work closely with procurement and stores teams to ensure availability of critical components.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, repairs, spare parts consumption, and equipment history using SAP or CMMS systems.
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, maintenance standards, and company safety requirements.
  • Support the preparation of maintenance plans, manpower forecasts, budgets, and management reports.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machine mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, rotating equipment, machine alignment, and precision maintenance.
  • Solid understanding of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, TPM, and reliability-centered maintenance principles.
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning, spare parts management, MTTR, MTBF, and maintenance KPI management.
  • Good understanding of HSE requirements, LOTO procedures, and safe mechanical maintenance practices.

 

Experience

 

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience maintaining CNC machines, SPMs, industrial machinery, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and rotating equipment.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory, team lead, or senior technician capacity.
  • Proven experience planning maintenance activities, allocating manpower, and coordinating with production teams.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding experience.
