Technical Project Specialist  - Defence & Aerospace

Job Description

Role Purpose

We are seeking a highly driven Technical Project Specialist - Defence & Aerospce to lead the end-to-end execution of engineered defence system projects. This role will oversee the full project lifecycle—from initial scope definition and costing through to contract execution, delivery, and final closeout—ensuring projects are commercially sound, technically compliant, and delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse customer requirements, specifications, and tender documents to define project scope
• Develop clear Scope of Work (SoW) and prepare accurate technical-commercial proposals
• Identify risks, assumptions, and exclusions during bid and proposal stages
• Review and validate contract terms, ensuring alignment with technical and commercial requirements
• Lead project handover and kickoff, establishing plans, milestones, and budget baselines
• Translate contract requirements into actionable engineering and operational plans
• Coordinate system design, configuration, and documentation with engineering teams
• Manage end-to-end project execution across engineering, procurement, production, and logistics
• Monitor and control project timelines, costs, and quality performance
• Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies throughout execution
• Act as the primary customer interface, managing communication, expectations, and issue resolution
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful project delivery

Key Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electronic Engineering) 

Experience 

• 5–10 years experience in project execution, engineering projects, or systems delivery
• Proven experience managing full project lifecycle (bid → execution → delivery)
• Strong understanding of engineered systems and products (preferably within defence or industrial sectors)
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOQs
• Familiarity with ERP systems and project planning tools
• Knowledge of industrial processes and ISO management systems
