Job Summary:

 

Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference plans, locations of surfaces and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Programs mills & lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points, setting tool  registers, offsets, compensation and conditional switches, calculating  requirements including math, geometry and trigonometry and pivoting part programs.
  • Maintains specifications by the following activities:
  1. Observing all CAD/CAM process, strategy and approach
  2. Detecting malfunctions
  3. Troubleshooting processes
  4. Adjusting and reprogramming controls and
  5. Adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
  • Creates NC programs utilizing high accuracy machining techniques and using machine simulation software
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Ensuring a safe and efficient manufacturing environment
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner wearing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

 

Experience & Education Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years Exp. as CNC programmer      
  • Minimum: High School diploma
  • Well versed in CAM software (MasterCAM, Edge CAM, NX, Vericut or CATIA)      
  • Preferred: experience on controllers including:
  • Fanuc turn and mill, Heidenheim Controls,   Siemens, Mazak ( Masetrol ), Gsk controller, Syntec
  • Conceptual Skills, attention to detail
  • Ability to read engineering drawings & Models
  • Experience with Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software
