Job Summary:We are seeking a Calibration & Maintenance Engineer (IMU – Production) to play a pivotal role in supporting and maintaining our navigation engineering and production test facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the test facility and equipment, implementing calibration procedures, and ensuring optimal performance of critical assets. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the production of cutting-edge navigation systems in a dynamic environment.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Contribute to the establishment of the IMU production infrastructure, including managing and maintaining the test facility and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the development management team to select appropriate equipment and facilities for IMU test, evaluation, production, and calibration activities.
  • Support fixture requirements for all Navigation team products on applicable test equipment.
  • Purchase and commission test equipment and calibration aids as needed.
  • Maintain Z4-13 Asset register and coordinate with the quality department for tooling and fixture calibration.
  • Develop and execute fixture and test equipment verification processes and plans.
  • Generate Calibration and Maintenance documentation, including calibration instructions, result templates, downtime reports, and predictive analytics.
  • Provide ongoing production support by introducing and monitoring appropriate T.E. metrics and offering problem-solving support.

 

Experience & Education Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience providing Calibration & Maintenance support in a production environment utilizing Motion Simulators or other high-precision Test Equipment.
  • Preferred: 10+ years of experience providing Calibration & Maintenance support in a production environment utilizing Motion Simulators.
  • Minimum: Foundation degree, HND, advanced apprenticeship, or NVQ level 4/5 in a related field.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or similar.
  • Knowledge of IMU test equipment, verification methods, and Calibration Techniques.
  • Understanding of the latest Calibration methods and metrology equipment/sensors.
  • Proficiency in debugging T.E. technical issues and familiarity with TPM and Predictive Analytics concepts.
