Key Responsibilities


  • Inspect, troubleshoot, disassemble, service, rebuild, overhaul, and repair a variety of heavy wheeled vehicles.
  • Ensure that all heavy wheeled vehicle maintenance inspections, servicing, rebuilds, overhauls and repairs are accomplished in accordance with all technical manuals, KPIs and OEM specifications.
  • Perform quality maintenance repairs as part of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System program.
  • Perform heavy wheeled vehicle maintenance inspections to determine the extent of repair and spare parts requirements.
  • Perform heavy wheeled vehicle troubleshooting using special tools and diagnostic test equipment.
  • Replace heavy wheeled vehicle major assemblies (engines, transmissions, transfer cases and differentials) and subassemblies (starters, alternators, generators and pumps).
  • Ensure all maintenance order spare parts residue is returned to the Workshop store.
  • Perform heavy wheeled vehicle spare parts research to ensure that only required spare parts are requisitioned in the appropriate quantities.
  • Complete maintenance related documentation such as maintenance tasks accomplished, direct labour hours consumed, vehicle specific information, spare part request forms.
  • Comply with all safety, housekeeping and environmental directives.
  • Ensure all issued tools, uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is accounted for, maintained and secured.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company information.
  • Support other members of the Workshop in fulfilling their roles.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Manager, workshop.


Experience & Education


  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience performing scheduled and/or unscheduled maintenance on heavy wheeled vehicles is required.
  • Previous military experience or automotive training is an advantage.
  • Ability to interpret complex electrical, mechanical and/or hydraulic schematics is preferred.
  • Previous experience using diagnostic testing equipment is an advantage.
  • Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office software and SAP is preferred.
