Key Accountabilities:

  • Interpret the technical drawings and set up the CNC machines to produce the components as per the drawing specifications
  • Prepare/modify drawings, specifications, calculations for designing fixtures, tools and jigs
  • Use Computer Aided Software (CAD / CAM) to model tools, and program machines to provide on time delivery of First Article Inspections (FAIs)
  • Develop new toolpaths or modify programs to achieve machine optimization, reduce cycle times and tool cost
  • Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to increase efficiency and quality of the production
  • Simulate, verify, debug and optimize programs for CNC machine using simulation softwares like NCSIMUL and Vericut
  • Identify cutting tools and cutting parameters required to cut particular type of materials and program machines accordingly
  • Verify the 3D models against the drawings, create stich surfaces on the models using surface modelling technique and make effective changes to generate tool paths on complicated models
  • Keep CNC machines in safe operating condition at all times, ensuring all required maintenance and cleaning is performed on schedule while performing basic troubleshooting of malfunctions
  • Ensure the availability of right amount of inventory of raw materials to stay at maximum production level at all times
  • Practice and train others in best programming practices to improve overall efficiency of the CNC operation
  • Ensure that all processes and procedures in Manufacturing adhere to the customer and quality standards
  • Ensure safe working environment for the operators in machines, understand and comply to all the safety and environmental policies and Practices

 

Experience & Education Qualifications:

  • High Diploma or Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
  • 8 years of experience into CNC machine programming in aerospace/manufacturing environment

 

Key Skills:

  • Proficiency in multi Axis Programming using CAD/CAM
  • Knowledge of fixtures and jigs designing
  • Knowledge of tool selection and cutting parameters
  • Proficiency in simulation software
  • Knowledge of safety standards
  • Macro programming skills
  • Ability to understand drawings, blue prints and specifications
  • Coaching and mentoring
